YakJak started with a love of boating, camping, and getting our family out on the water and on the road.

If you spend enough time outdoors, you learn that the little things matter.

That's the idea behind YakJak.
We're building products for people who love being outside — products that make setting up, towing, camping, boating, and enjoying the places we go a little easier.
We're starting with the hitch.
But YakJak is about a lot more than hitches.
It's about building things that work, making them better, and helping you get everything on the level so you can spend less time messing with your gear and more time enjoying where it takes you.
Why the name
On the Level.
It's how we tow and it's how we do business.
A level trailer tracks straighter, brakes the way it was engineered to, wears its tires evenly, and doesn't fight you in a crosswind. It isn't a preference — it's how a trailer is designed to sit. Get it level and everything downstream gets better.
The second meaning is the one we care about more. This category is full of big numbers, invented awards, and fine print that quietly takes back what the marketing promised. We'd rather tell you the truth and let you decide.
What we stand for
Four things we don't bend on.
We tell you what your hitch can't do.
You'll see hitches advertised at eye-popping tow numbers. What you won't see is that those numbers need a bigger receiver, and that no ball mount raises what your truck can tow. Your real limit is whatever part of your setup is rated lowest — usually the vehicle. We'd rather you know that than be impressed by us.
We answer the phone.
Call 877-YAK-JAK4 and you get a person who tows. If you aren't sure which drop you need, we'll walk the measurement with you before you spend a dollar. Getting it right the first time is cheaper for both of us.
30 days, any reason. Including rattle.
Some sellers specifically write rattle out of their return policy, because receiver tolerances vary truck to truck. We went the other way — every hitch ships with an anti-rattle clamp in the box, and if you're still not happy, send it back.
Lifetime warranty, honored from Indiana.
If your hitch ever fails from a defect in materials or workmanship, we repair or replace it. No time limit, no registration, no runaround. The person reading your claim is the same person who wrote this page.
No dodging the question
Straight answer on where these are made.
Our hitches are CNC machined overseas from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, at a facility held to our specifications. Machining this part domestically at our volume would push the price well past what we think an adjustable ball mount should cost — and we'd rather put that money into the material, the finish, and the warranty than into a label.
What's American is the company. YakJak is family owned and operated in Indianapolis, Indiana. We inspect what we sell, we ship it from Indiana, we answer the phone here, and we honor the lifetime warranty here.
If something goes wrong with your hitch, you're talking to us. Not a factory on the other side of the world.

Hi — I'm John Hurley, founder of YakJak.
I've spent my life building companies. My background is in technology, where I've started, grown, and helped build businesses over the past 20+ years. YakJak isn't my first company, and I'm not treating it like a side project.
But my passion for YakJak comes from somewhere different.
I've spent decades boating, camping, towing, and being outdoors. Some of my favorite memories aren't in a boardroom — they're at a campsite, on a boat, or around a grill with family and friends.
And over the years, I've learned that there's something satisfying about getting things just right.
A trailer sitting level.
A boat properly set up.
A campsite dialed in.
A grill that isn't rocking on the table.
Maybe that's why On the Level means more to me than just a slogan.
It's the standard I want YakJak to live by.
We're starting with towing, but we're building something much bigger — a brand focused on making the outdoor lifestyle a little easier, a little smarter, and a lot more enjoyable.
I've built companies before. I know what it takes to build something that lasts.
